What's up super-intelligent engineers!? Welcome to one of the few places of no hype, just reporting from the trenches.

Two short ones today that made a lasting impact on my engineering recently.

First, at Rails World I spoke to a young Shopify engineer who taught me that if I'm using Computer Use in the ChatGPT desktop app, I should just ask it to record QA videos, not just screenshots. I've not doubted Computer Use can do basically anything on your machine, but I've been stuck in my old habits asking the machine to do the same thing that I knew already. But videos are so much better and I haven't noticed token issues yet. This is why I love going to conferences.

Second, a quick workflow share: I have a bunch of commands that start as a Raycast keyboard shortcut to automatically paste a text snippet I use frequently. If I need to type the same thing 2-3 times, it becomes a Raycast snippet. If I keep using that snippet frequently, it might become a skill or a memory. That way, I don't spam my skills too much and still give enough room for automation before graduating an idea to something the bots will be able to use autonomously or on demand later.

Third, check out the nuggets below, hope some of them are relevant to what you are working on right now!

## Software Systems Practice Club (free)

Reminder: Saturday, November 7th we are trying the first Software Systems Practice Club:

- Meet and share what part of your software engineering system you're gonna be working on.
- Focus and ship for two hours, bonus points for exceeding expectations (stay in the chat if you want).
- Present your results, plus general discussions.

## [AIN#42] AI Nuggets Week#42

### 📺 Expert Knowledge YouTube Nuggets

⏱ **7** min watch

**The Highest Loop** (swyx) - If you need to see someone obsessed with loops, swyx briefly touches on engineering loops, human loops and the highest loop of all loops. 🧠

⏱ **21** min watch

**Software Engineering Is Becoming Factory Engineering** (Zach Lloyd, Warp) - Makes sense to me, Factory Engineering == Software Making Systems.

⏱ **11** min watch

**Meta just dropped something insane... (Muse Wonder)** (Matthew Berman) - A bit of hype for your next $200 AI coding subscription: Berman tests Muse Wonder on browser games and 3D scenes, with quota errors along the way.

⏱ **35** min watch

**Pi Durable PROACTIVE Agents: Jev Triggers My ON-CALL Pi Agent** (IndyDevDan) - Pi Durable is worth watching as the next evolution for owning your agents.

> Rich's YouTube comment: "Near the loop", there is a term for that: "On the loop".

I asked Grok for a random image inspired by my account: "Thank God AI is useful for something."

"Hey Claude, make my error pages more fun." Michael's error page comes with an itemized receipt for the damage. Not sure it can compete with the dynamic Loop Labs error pages tho.
